How the ranking works

A player will be awarded ranking points on the basis of his final performance in national junior tournaments. In order to qualify for a National Junior Event and provide ranking points certain guide lines have to be followed. (View - Rules and Regulations for tournament organizers).

The ranking list will be updated monthly or after each ranking tournament is held and will be based on the total number of points accumulated by a player in that month through any tournaments which takes place.

Points awarded in tournaments:

Winner (of any age category) :            25 Points

Runner-up :                                         20 Points

3rd Place :                                           15 Points

4th Place :                                            10 Points

5/8 Places :                                          5 Points

9/16 Places :                                        3 Points

17/32 Places:                                       1 Point

Carrying over of points to next age group:

In the case when a player will already have a ranking in an age category, following his/her birthday (which makes them over age form a certain category), 50% of each of the results from the lower category will be transferred to the older age category and the two records will be merged. Results from the higher age category will take precedence and will always be used to calculate the total of the player, regardless of whether or not the player plays any matches in the higher age category.

Note: A player who will not participate in the Junior Circuit for a full 12 months from the finals day of the last event in which they compete or play their challenge match will be removed from the ranking.
